Ernie Liska Memorial Scholarships Awarded to Akron Seniors

AKRON, Ohio-Kaylee and Kaysie Anderson, graduating seniors from Akron Early College High School, have been awarded the 2024 Ernie Liska Memorial Scholarship by Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Each will receive $1,000. The scholarship, established in 2019, aims to support high school seniors from Akron Public Schools planning to pursue a college degree or certification in a vocational/building trade, residing within Akron city limits.

Kaysie Anderson, who has an associate degree from The University of Akron, plans to major in computer science at Morgan State University or The University of Akron. She was active in various organizations, including the Summit County Youth Coalition and Coding Club. Kaylee Anderson, also with an associate degree from The University of Akron, will major in English with a minor in creative writing at Kent State University. She was involved in the 3.0 Club, honor roll, and contributed to her high school’s literary magazine.
