GREEN, Ohio-The Green Local Schools district is in the process of constructing two new school buildings, Green Elementary School and Green Middle School, set to open for the 2025-26 school year. Construction progress includes work on exterior walls and foundation pads, with a goal to complete the buildings’ roofing before winter. Both schools will feature movable walls between classrooms for flexible learning spaces, and additional classroom capacity to accommodate potential enrollment growth.
The district is also collaborating with the City of Green on the construction of the Green Community Courts building, connected to the middle school, which will include indoor court space, a turf practice field, and other amenities. Meanwhile, renovations are planned for Green Primary School, which will now house pre-k through first grade, including updated safety features, new paint and flooring, and new playgrounds. The district is also considering options for a new bus garage, with plans to decide this summer and begin construction before winter. The educational experience for students includes involvement in the construction process, with architects engaging with students and video updates produced by Green High School students. Additionally, efforts are underway to preserve memorabilia from the old buildings and determine community events prior to their demolition.
