SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio-Shaker Heights officials are considering a proposal to create a Youth Sports Administrator position, aimed at promoting and expanding access to youth sports in the city. The City Council’s Recreation Committee will review the proposal at a virtual meeting, where they will discuss splitting the cost between the city and school district. The proposed position, with a salary and benefits around $70,000, would be filled next year. The administrator would collaborate with the city’s recreation department and the school district to organize new youth sports leagues and coordinate outreach efforts to encourage participation.
