1 min read

COLUMBUS, Ohio-An 11-year-old girl, a 6th grader at Mifflin Middle School, was allegedly attacked on a school bus by a group of girls.  The victim’s mother, Sophia Gill, claims her daughter was tased, maced, and punched by a 17-year-old, resulting in injuries including a busted lip. The attack occurred days after an altercation between the victim and another girl on the bus, for which both were disciplined. Gill alleges that the bus driver did not try to prevent the attackers from boarding the bus or stop the assault. After the bus incident, the victim fled to a nearby library, where her 12-year-old niece was reportedly stabbed in the face, requiring 74 stitches. The family believes the same group was responsible for both the bus attack and the stabbing at the library. Columbus Police are investigating the stabbing incident. Columbus City Schools acknowledged the altercation between two students but stated they couldn’t confirm the use of weapons. The district has taken disciplinary actions against those involved. The victim’s mother is demanding more answers and action from the school district, expressing concerns about student safety on school buses.
