TOLEDO, Ohio-The New Me Foundation, founded by Rachel McClellan in 2013, offers a variety of programs aimed at assisting struggling youth. Teen Camp 101, running from July 1 to Aug. 10 for ages 13 and up, focuses on finance skills, reflecting a growing need for financial literacy among teens. McClellan emphasizes the importance of teaching budgeting and banking basics, noting a lack of such knowledge among many youths.
The foundation also provides programs in cybersecurity, media, modeling, fitness, agriculture, and literacy. Despite similar programs in Toledo, McClellan prioritizes accessibility and aims to provide resources for children in need. Paula Taylor, an integral part of the foundation, highlights the positive impact on children’s lives, with many transitioning to successful careers. McClellan’s son, William Cowell, expresses admiration for the programs and credits his mom’s coolness for their success.
