COLUMBUS, Ohio-A Franklin County man, Randy Mollett, was arrested and charged after giving a 3-year-old boy a fatal dose of Benadryl. Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an unresponsive child report on April 13 in Darbydale. The boy, under Mollett’s care, was taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital where he later died.
Detectives found Benadryl bottles in Mollett’s home, and he admitted to giving the boy the medication, leading to his death. Mollett faces charges of child endangerment, reckless homicide, and murder, and is currently in Franklin County jail.
