DAYTON, Ohio-Montgomery County Prosecuting Attorney Mat Heck, Jr. hosted the 34th annual Violence Prevention Project Awards ceremony in Dayton, recognizing students from local schools for their contributions. Over 1,000 students submitted entries, such as posters or essays, addressing violence and proposing ways to reduce it.
The project aims to educate children about alternatives to violence and encourages dialogue among students, parents, and educators on violence prevention. Heck emphasized the importance of discussing issues like bullying, substance abuse, and gun violence with students, fostering a future generation of leaders committed to combating violence.
