STEUBENVILLE , Ohio-The Pleasant Hill School House Historical Museum is hosting an open house from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. this Sunday. Led by Connie Crawford and others involved in its restoration, the event offers guided tours of the 1880s-era one-room schoolhouse located near Steubenville. Highlights include a treasure hunt for children accompanied by adults, and a chance to ring the original school bell in the newly remodeled bell tower. The museum features artifacts like McGuffy Readers, slate and clay slate pencils, and original lesson charts. Visitors can experience the classroom atmosphere of the past, including disciplinary items like a paddle and dunce cap.
