SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-The Springfield region is facing a series of threats of violence affecting local schools. On Monday, the Springfield City School District evacuated Simon Kenton and Kenwood Elementary schools based on information from the Springfield Police Division. This is the fifth and sixth district schools to be targeted with threats in the past week. Parents faced long waits at Springfield High School to pick up their children. Thelma Cobb, a grandparent, expressed her frustration and fear over the situation, criticizing the bomb threats and expressing concern about the safety of children. Kristen Karkan, another parent, demanded action from community leaders and indicated she might switch her children to homeschooling due to safety concerns.
