OLENTANGY, Ohio-Olentangy Berlin High School senior Annabella Burton Boone has been recognized as a 2024 U.S. Presidential Scholar, chosen among 161 students nationwide and one of two in Ohio. The selection, made by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars, honors her academic achievements, leadership, community service, and commitment to excellence.
Burton Boone, who will attend Harvard University, expressed interest in environmental science, linguistics, and public policy, aiming to contribute to addressing climate change. Principal Todd Spinner praised her as a dedicated and passionate individual. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona commended Burton Boone and other scholars for representing the nation’s best and inspiring hope for the future. Chardon Javar Black Jr. from John Hay High School in Cleveland was the other Ohio winner.
