AUSTINTOWN, Ohio-The Austintown Local School District is actively recruiting bus drivers for the upcoming school year. Currently employing 32 drivers but needing about 40, they are hosting a recruiting event until Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. A bus is stationed near the GetGo gas station on Mahoning Avenue for interested individuals to inquire about opportunities.
Director of Transportation Angie Mraz highlighted the importance of filling vacancies to prevent route doubling and delays experienced last year. The district offers free CDL training for those interested in becoming bus drivers.
