DAYTON, Ohio-Five-year-old Charles Brown tragically died from drug intoxication on March 30, with fentanyl, fluorofentanyl, and xylazine found in his system, as revealed by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office after a lengthy investigation.
The case is being treated as a homicide, and Dayton Police are investigating. Xylazine, a non-opioid veterinary drug known as “zombie drug” or “tranq dope,” is highly addictive and often mixed with other drugs like fentanyl, making it difficult to detect and resistant to Narcan, as explained by Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Lakshmi Sammarco in a related press conference.
