BG School Board Bids Farewell to Long-Time Teacher and Tumultuous Year

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-During a special meeting, the Bowling Green Board of Education bid farewell to Lane Hakel, a talented sixth-grade social studies teacher retiring after 22 years with the district.

Superintendent Francis Scruci praised Hakel’s exceptional teaching skills and wished him luck in his retirement, suggesting he may have more time to pursue interests like acting with the Black Swamp Players. Additionally, the board passed a resolution to continue health benefits for four transportation employees whose hours have been reduced below the required threshold.
