Multiple schools in Northwest Ohio are closed or seeing a reduced student population due to extreme illness.
This comes as local doctors say they are seeing increases in upper respiratory viruses.
“Historically around the December, January time you get a spike and then we’ll usually get another spike earlier in the spring,” Ryan Johnston, an Emergency Room Doctor at ProMedica Toledo Hospital said.
While many viruses are in the air, doctors say the flu is leading the charge. These illnesses can quickly turn serious.
