A Toledo man was arrested for allegedly trying to meet up at a park with who he thought was a child for sex, but he was actually talking to an undercover agent.
Authorities said Gerald Theis, 62, of Toledo, was arrested Tuesday on an Importuning charge. According to the Ottawa County Major Crimes Unit, Theis drove from his home in Toledo to Genoa on Feb. 4, where he thought he was meeting a 14-year-old boy for sex.
Investigators said Clay Township Police began a child exploitation investigation involving a a man trying to solicit sex and nude images from a 14-year-old on Feb. 2. The next day, the police department asked the Ottawa County Major Crimes Unit to help the investigation.
