LIBERTY, Ohio-A teacher in the Greater Cincinnati area’s second-largest school district, Lakota, is facing termination for allegedly falsifying sick time to attend a Nashville concert. The Lakota School Board’s termination attempt is on hold as the teacher’s lawyer requested a hearing before a referee.
The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce provided three local lawyer options for the hearing, with the state appointing someone if an agreement isn’t reached within five days. Lakota is responsible for the referee’s cost. The story has garnered national attention and was featured in “People” magazine and the Daily Mail.
