April 4th, 2024-MANSFIELD, Ohio-Jaylin Favors, aged 16, was identified as the victim of a shooting on Chestnut Street in Richland County. He was pronounced deceased at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and his body was sent for autopsy. Mansfield police responded to the scene after a 911 call reported the shooting at approximately 2 p.m. Officers found Favors inside the residence with gunshot wounds, and he was later pronounced dead.
The incident is under investigation by Major Crimes detectives to determine the circumstances and identify suspects. This shooting marks the second fatal incident in the area within five days, following another shooting that resulted in the death of a 25-year-old man named David Gibson on Spring Street.
