Heated Conversations Between Marion Franklin Parents, Teachers & CCS Closure Task Force

COLUMBUS, Ohio-The Columbus City Schools Facilities Task Force discussed the possibility of closing Marion Franklin High School during a meeting, prompting concerned parents and teachers to voice their opposition. Issues such as attendance barriers and safety risks were raised, with Marion Franklin community members expressing apprehension about merging with South High School.

The task force cited factors like enrollment, building conditions, and student retention in considering the closure. One proposal involves merging Marion Franklin with South High to create a regional high school, with 7th and 8th graders possibly attending Buckeye Middle School. While these are just recommendations, the community is actively participating in discussions to ensure their voices are heard.
