LEWISTOWN, Ohio-Nearly every student at Indian Lake Elementary School received a brand new pair of shoes, thanks to Honda and Operation Warm-More than a Coat. Initially, the groups offered coats, but since the school had enough donated coats, they provided shoes instead. Honda volunteers helped students measure their feet, choose shoes, and try them on.Operation Warm’s Jean Burnett emphasized the importance of giving every child a pair of shoes, fostering confidence. Almost 600 pairs were distributed, and students were excited, trying on their new shoes and showing off their speed. Some students who missed out on the initial distribution will receive their shoes soon. Additionally, each student received two new pairs of socks to go with their shoes.
