LAKOTA, Ohio-The Lakota School Board has appointed Ashley Whitely as the new superintendent after a year-long search. Whitely, currently an assistant superintendent at Wyoming City Schools, will start her five-year contract on August 1st. Board president Julie Shaffer praised Whitely’s experience and commitment to education.
Whitely expressed excitement for her new role, aiming to enhance instruction and foster a positive culture. Previously, she taught English and chaired the department at Lakota East High School. The district will hold a meet and greet event on Monday at Lakota East Freshman cafeteria.
