KANSA, Ohio-Inspired by his teacher and Kansas City Chiefs players’ charity work, fifth-grader Daken Kramer set out to clear his school’s lunch debt. With his mother’s help, he launched a fundraiser that quickly gained traction, raising over $7,400.
The funds not only erased lunch debt at his elementary school but also helped a high school in the same district. Daken’s selfless act earned him a “Daken Kramer Legacy Award” from his teachers, sparking a tradition to honor fifth graders for community impact annually. While proud of his achievement, Daken plans to continue helping others and aims to advocate for free school lunches for all students.
