MND Wins First Cincinnati Girls Flag Football Championship

CINCINNATI, Ohio-Six local high schools in the Cincinnati area organized girls flag football teams, culminating in a championship tournament facilitated by the Cincinnati Bengals. Mercy McAuley and Mt. Notre Dame (MND) reached the championship game, with MND emerging victorious in a thrilling fashion.

The Bengals’ involvement provided hundreds of young women with the opportunity to play football, traditionally a male-dominated sport. Participants expressed empowerment and excitement, with the Bengals organization aiming to innovate and expand inclusivity in football, a sentiment echoed by Bengals head coach Zac Taylor, who attended the tournament as a spectator.
