An Ohio school board is considering a new policy that could strip its teachers of one of the most beloved classroom traditions: decorating their walls.
The policy, which was read for the first time Tuesday evening at a Little Miami Schools board meeting, would require teachers to take down most posters, flags and other displays that aren’t directly related to that class’s curriculum.
Little Miami School District is in Cincinnati’s suburbs, more than 30 miles northeast of Downtown. An online petition against the proposed policy garnered hundreds of signatures in the last week, and several people for and against the policy showed up to speak at a recent school board meeting.
