PAINESVILLE, Ohio-Starting June 3, Painesville City School District’s Lunch Box summer meal program resumes, offering free daily meals to visitors aged 18 and younger until August 2, excluding June 19 and July 4-5. No enrollment in the district is required, and even toddlers can participate if they can consume solid food.
The program aims to bridge the summer meal gap for families. Meals will be served at various locations from 11 am to 1:15 pm, with a worker available for latecomers. In case of bad weather, meals will be served at Harvey High School. The menu includes hot and cold items like sandwiches, yogurt, salads, and pizza, with allergy and nutrition information available.
Those with allergies can contact the Lunch Box manager or Nutrition Services Director. The Lunch Box program, recognized for its excellence, is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and provides support to the community. Summer XP, a free program with themed activities and lunch, will also be available for students from pre-K to grade 12 at select locations.
