COLUMBUS, Ohio-Arts Impact Middle School in Columbus has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first school in the district and the first middle school in Ohio to receive the Purple Star designation from the Ohio Department of Education. This designation acknowledges the school’s dedication to supporting military families and their children.
Plans to enhance support include adding Veterans Day assemblies and inviting veteran artists to share their experiences through artwork. The school’s military support programs are continuously evolving. This year, a total of 97 Ohio schools received the Purple Star recognition for the first time, with an additional 74 schools earning renewal after three years of dedicated support for military families.
