LIMA, Ohio-Apollo Career Center’s robotics department is set to receive grant funding to acquire new equipment, specifically an Amatrol smart factory with a robotic arm, which will enhance students’ skills and accommodate larger classes in response to growing interest in automated manufacturing. Lima City Schools also received over $1 million in career tech education equipment grants for various program improvements, including an upgraded kitchen for the culinary program, a barn for the new agriculture facility, enhancements to the early childhood education outdoor area, and a revamped makerspace. These initiatives aim to align education with local manufacturers’ workforce needs.
