Teen Charged With Four Murders When He Was 14 Sentenced to Over 30 Years in Prison

CINCINNATI, Ohio-Mikeem Thomas, who was charged with four murders at the age of 14, has been sentenced to 31 to 36 1/2 years in prison at the age of 17. Thomas changed his plea during his final pre-trial hearing. He was charged alongside three others in 2021 for a series of murders in Cincinnati.

Prosecutors alleged Thomas committed violent crimes as part of an alleged murder-for-hire scheme. Carl Godfrey, the alleged ringleader, received two life sentences without parole, while the other defendants took plea deals. Thomas was accused of participating in multiple shootings, including one where a man died and another where a man was fatally shot in retaliation for an earlier incident. Judge Kari Bloom determined in 2023 that Thomas would be tried as an adult for his involvement in the murders.
