COLUMBUS, Ohio-A community group in west Columbus dedicated to reducing gun violence and keeping youth away from dangerous influences is receiving increased support. Recently, seven teens who overcame challenges such as gang involvement and exposure to violence graduated from high school with the group’s help.
Founded by Zerq Abid, My Project USA has provided a safe environment and guidance for these teens, fostering hope and inspiring them to give back to their community. One graduate, Sharmerke Abdi, plans to coach children after college, becoming the first in his family to graduate.
