CLEVELAND, Ohio-On Thursday night, a 10-year-old girl was fatally shot on Cleveland’s West Side. Police responded to a shots fired call at around 7:10 p.m. on West 125th Street and found the girl wounded. She was taken to a hospital where she later died. The circumstances of the shooting were not disclosed, and no arrests have been made yet. Homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
This tragic event occurred hours after a Cleveland police officer, Jamieson Ritter, was shot and killed while attempting to serve a warrant on De’Lawnte Hardy, 24, in a separate incident earlier that morning on East 80th Street. Hardy, who attempted to flee and fired at officers, is charged with aggravated murder and is expected in court.
