DAYON, Ohio-Two teachers from the Global Impact STEM Academy, Rachel Sanders and Scott Spohler, are participating in a multi-state initiative aimed at reducing teacher burnout and turnover among middle and high school science educators. This five-year, $2.3 million project, titled “Cultivating Persistence and Leadership Development in Science Master Teachers,” will develop 20 fellows from eight Ohio schools and 12 in Kentucky. Sanders and Spohler were selected for their high-quality science instruction and effectiveness in their districts, and project activities commenced last month following summer interviews.
