AKRON, Ohio-The city of Akron will provide free meals to eligible youths (18 and younger) and summer day camp program participants meeting income guidelines for reduced-price meals through the National School Lunch Program. Meals, prepared by Akron Public Schools, will be distributed at various community centers and locations from June 10 to August 2, excluding holidays.
Mayor Malik expressed pride in offering this program, ensuring children can enjoy their summer worry-free. Eligibility includes households receiving food stamps, benefits under the Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR), or Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF).
