Batavia at Shroder Football Game Postponed After Shooting Near Taft High School, Stargel Stadium

CINCINNATI, Ohio-The Batavia at Shroder football game scheduled for Thursday night at Stargel Stadium was postponed due to a shooting near Taft High School. A 13-year-old Taft student was injured and taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Stargel Stadium, which serves as the home field for Taft and other local schools, is close to Taft High School. Batavia’s athletic department received notice of the shooting shortly before the game and decided to postpone it out of concern for safety. The game might be rescheduled to Saturday at Batavia, with the districts working on the details. This postponement follows a similar incident where Miami Valley Christian Academy canceled its game due to a shooting near the football field.
