BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-The Bowling Green Board of Education debated whether to renew David Conley’s contract, who has been their consultant for school finance matters for the past three years. Some board members believed his expertise was still necessary, while others felt they could proceed independently.
The vote resulted in a decision to keep Conley on an annual contract worth $50,000, with Norm Geer, Jill Carr, and Ginny Stewart in favor, while Tracy Hovest and Ryan Myers preferred using Conley on an as-needed basis at a rate of $300/hour. Conley has been involved in various financial endeavors for the district, including unsuccessful attempts to garner voter support for a new elementary school and successful efforts to restructure tax levies. School Treasurer Cathy Schuller recommended renewing Conley’s contract, citing his extensive experience and valuable service to the district.
