CLEVELAND, Ohio-In 2024, two high-achieving Ohio students, including Chardon Black from Cleveland School of Science and Medicine, were named U.S. Presidential Scholars, a prestigious award recognizing academic, artistic, and technical excellence. Only 161 students nationwide receive this honor annually.
Chardon Black, raised by a single mother, attributes his success to four years of hard work and intends to inspire others in his district. His academic accomplishments include being class valedictorian and earning a full scholarship to Princeton. Additionally, his teacher, Reverend B.A. Gregg, was recognized as a distinguished teacher in the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. Chardon Black aspires to become a criminal defense lawyer in the future.
