Columbus City school board President Christina Vera stepped aside Tuesday from her role heading the board, and members voted longtime member Michael Cole as the new president.
The shakeup on the board came after Vera announced Tuesday during the board’s organizational meeting that she would not be seeking reelection as board president, saying it was a personal decision to step down. Vera was selected as board president at the beginning of 2024.
