COLUMBUS, Ohio-April Knight, principal of Avondale Elementary, will become the new president of the National Association of Elementary School Principals in the 2025-2026 school year. With over 20 years at Columbus City Schools, Knight sees her new role as a testament to the district’s success and aims to represent CCS and its administrators nationally. She plans to advocate for educators and support teachers and principals across the U.S. while continuing to inspire Columbus residents. Knight will complete the current school year at Avondale Elementary before starting her presidential role.
