April 13th, 2024-STRONGSVILLE, Ohio-Lou Cirino, former head football coach at West Geauga and Strongsville High School, was arrested by Geauga County Sheriff’s deputies on charges of sexual misconduct. An arrest warrant issued on March 28 led to his arrest. Court documents reveal he’s indicted for sexual battery and gross sexual imposition, both involving minors.
The incidents allegedly occurred during his tenure at West Geauga High School. Cirino, termed a “sexually violent predator” by the grand jury, faced allegations received by Chester Township police in December 2023. Strongsville City Schools announced his non-return as head coach for the 2024 season. Despite being let go, Cirino remains technically employed.
Both Strongsville and West Geauga School Districts stated they cooperated with investigations. Strongsville placed Cirino on unpaid administrative leave and prohibited him from school grounds or contact with students. West Geauga District, where Cirino worked until 2017, expressed limited information regarding the charges.
