LANCASTER, Ohio -A Fairfield County mother is defending her 12-year-old son, who was arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat at Thomas Ewing Junior High in Lancaster. She expressed her frustration over him spending the weekend in detention, claiming he is innocent. The boy was arrested after a joint investigation by the Fairfield County Sheriff’s Office and the Lancaster City School District, which referred the case to the prosecutor’s office.
Although deputies did not find any bombs and did not put the school on lockdown, the boy reportedly made beeping noises to mimic a bomb and said “Allah Akbar.” He denied the charges in court and was released to his mother. She argues that there is no evidence against him and criticizes the way authorities handled the situation, suggesting they need better strategies for addressing such allegations. The boy is scheduled to return to court next month.
