CRESTON, Ohio-The community in Wayne County is mourning the loss of 14-year-old eighth grader Aurora Krahenbuhl, who tragically died in a car accident while heading to a homecoming game. Five teens were in the vehicle when it lost control and rolled over, with another student critically injured. The homecoming game was canceled but rescheduled for Saturday, and a later celebration is planned. Superintendent Kevin Leatherman emphasized the importance of coming together to support Aurora’s family. Aurora’s aunt and mother spoke about the need for responsible driving to prevent such tragedies. Aurora’s twin brother and family members thanked the community for their support, especially after losing another granddaughter earlier this year. A prayer vigil is scheduled for Sunday evening to honor Aurora’s memory.
