Ohio K-12 students will soon get up to 3 days off to observe religious holy days

Ohio K-12 students in public and charter schools can soon take up to three excused absences to observe religious holidays each academic year and provide accommodations to make up missed work, tests or quizzes due to a new state law.

Parents getting their child an excused absence for a religious expression day must inform their school’s principal in writing at least 14 days after the school year begins.
