Ohio lawmakers want to prohibit children under 16 from using tanning beds

Ohio lawmakers want to prohibit businesses from allowing children younger than 16 to use tanning beds.

Those between 16 and 18 are currently allowed to use tanning beds with parental consent, but Senate Bill 25 would also tighten those restrictions. There are stricter regulations for those under 16.

SB 25 is sponsored by Sen. Terry Johnson, R-Portsmouth, and this is not the first time he has tried to limit minors from using tanning salons. The bill he introduced in the last General Assembly would have prohibited all minors from using tanning beds at salons.
