The Department of Education is sending a warning about diversity, equity and inclusion programs. It’s not clear what exactly needs to be changed but Toledo Public Schools leaders say they’ll take their time digesting what the requests asks, while also keeping kids at the forefront.
The letter from the Department of Education says discrimination on any basis is reprehensible. It slams previous policies on things like diversity, equity and inclusion. The letter says if schools do not comply and eliminate programs that fail to comply with federal civil rights laws in the next 14 days, they’re in danger of losing federal funds.
