COLUMBUS, Ohio-Several high schools in central Ohio are delaying the start of their football games this week due to extreme heat. Traditionally starting at 7 p.m., some games have been rescheduled to 8 p.m. as a precaution. As of Wednesday, the following games have been affected:
– Teays Valley vs. Bloom-Carrol
– London vs. Chillicothe
– Wadsworth vs. New Albany
– Fairfield Christian Academy vs. Oak Hill
The region is experiencing high temperatures, with heat indices exceeding 100 degrees earlier this week and expected to stay near 99 degrees for the rest of the week. Schools are taking these measures to protect players and spectators from heat-related issues.
