A Lucas County judge on Monday convicted a 17-year-old on a murder charge for the shooting death of 14-year-old Adrian Johnson in summer 2023.
Zammarion Candie withdrew his previous plea of not guilty and pleaded guilty to the murder charge in court. He is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 19.
Police arrested Candie in August 2023, about two weeks after the July 19 shooting on Heatherdowns Boulevard in south Toledo. He was 16 years old at the time of the shooting.
