School Honored for Financial Reporting

CASTALIA, Ohio-Townsend Community School in Castalia received the Auditor of State Award for exceptional financial reporting in the 2023 fiscal year, marking its second consecutive year earning this honor. The award, presented by state auditor Keith Faber, recognizes the school’s impeccable financial practices.

Specializing in dropout prevention and credit recovery, Townsend serves students across several counties. The award was accepted by school treasurer Kelsey Kromer at a recent board meeting, where Lori Brodie from the state auditor’s office commended their achievement. The board acknowledged Kromer and assistant treasurer Betty Schwiefert for their pivotal roles in the school’s financial success.
