COLUMBUS, Ohio-The bipartisan bill (House Bill 606, also known as the Enact Campus Act)was introduced in Ohio in response to the increase in antisemitic incidents on college campuses following the start of the Israel-Hamas war. The bill was introduced by Republican Rep. Justin Pizzulli and Democratic Rep. Dontavius Jarrells. It would require public and private colleges and universities to adopt and enforce policies addressing racial, religious, and ethnic harassment and intimidation. Rep. Jarrells emphasized the need to address the rise in such incidents on college campuses. The bill aims to create a safer environment for students to express their identities and beliefs without fear.
