LIMA, Ohio-The 36th Annual Kewpee High School Art Invitational recently took place in Lima, showcasing the creative abilities of high school students from the region. The event featured artwork in various mediums such as drawing, painting, digital art, ceramics, jewelry, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.
Organizers emphasized the importance of art as a means for students to express themselves authentically, transcending social boundaries and cliques. Sally Windle, the Executive Director of ArtSpace/Lima, highlighted how art serves as a powerful form of self-expression for students, allowing them to communicate thoughts and emotions that may be difficult to articulate otherwise. The event has been supported for 36 years by Harry and Scott Shutt of Kewpee Restaurants, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents in a professional setting.
