Ohio Education Agencies Talking to Local Businesses About Upskilling their Workforce

LIMA, Ohio-The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, along with the Ohio Department of Higher Education, hosted a regional meeting at Apollo Career Centers to inform business leaders about programs available to upskill Ohio’s workforce.

They emphasized that 800,000 adults in the state lack a high school diploma, but highlighted existing programs that offer degrees and skill improvements to help them secure better jobs. T.J. Armstrong, Senior Program Manager at the Ohio Department of Higher Education, stressed the importance of aligning educational offerings with employer needs to ensure graduates are equipped with the necessary skills for job retention and to meet industry demands.
