A new charter school, the Heart of Ohio Classical Academy, is set to open this fall in Dublin, Ohio, housed in a former office building near Tuttle Mall. The school will offer a tuition-free “classical” education based on Hillsdale College’s curriculum. Over 200 students are already enrolled, with potential growth to over 400. The academy purchased the building for $7.5 million in June using bond funds, with state funding expected to service the debt starting in October. Headmaster Sam Weisbrod aims to provide an alternative to what he sees as a troubled public school system.
