Clermont County Woman Found Competent to Stand Trial in Horrific Child Abuse Case

ABATAVIA, Ohio- Clermont County judge has ruled that a local woman, Matthew Edmonson, accused of severe child abuse, is competent to stand trial following a psychiatric evaluation. She and her husband, Charles, face serious charges, including kidnapping and child endangerment, for allegedly abusing their adoptive children, who have special needs, by confining them in their Batavia home’s basement. Charles Edmonson is currently serving a prison sentence for gross sexual abuse. Additionally, their 20-year-old son, Bailey Edmonson, faces charges for mentally and physically abusing the younger children. The children are now in a different foster home and are reportedly thriving.
